Since the nation was founded on the Old Mythology, people in Pusso worship the same pantheon as rita- banu, bi’, and all the rest. However, there are some differences, carried out from the old earth empire they came from.
Views on the afterlife:
People in rita believe that when humans die, their souls are reborn into a new life. However, in Pusso they believe that there is an afterlife, where humans join with their ancestors and the gods for the rest of eternity.
Different deities:
In Pusso, there are more deities than in rita. This was carried out from the deities they worshiped before.
The mecho are trickster gods that are descended from bi’, and play jokes on humans. People in Pusso cast off these gods in rituals every month.
The sproxi are beautiful spirits that, they believe, took over as deities of love. People in Pusso pray to them instead of tujejjago.
Bron is the god of food, seen as fat and jolly. At festivals, people put up idols of Bron.
Ancestors that have led good lives are worshipped as gods.
Prayer:
Prayer typically happens every morning instead of the afternoon. People choose to pray to one or two gods, and offer it sacrifices. They believe skipping a prayer or doing it wrong brings bad luck.
Leaders:
Religious leaders, called cexo, lead complex rituals in specific religious buildings.
