The Constitution of the Republic of Tinland
The Constitution of the Republic of Tinland is a founding document and the supreme law of the confederation. It consists of a preamble, twenty articles, and a postamble. The Constitution establishes the confederation, defines the relationship between the federal government and the States and Territories, and determines the federal government's powers. It replaced the first Constitution of the Republic of Tinland in January 2023.
After months of inaction by the federal government, due to its weak authority and requirement of unanimous consent for any action, the National Assembly approved a resolution establishing a Constitutional Convention to replace the Constitution. The Constitutional Convention met from October 2021 to January 2022. On January 10, 2022, the Constitutional Convention adopted the draft Constitution and sent it to the States and Territories for ratification. Nine days later, on January 19, 2022, all States and Territories ratified the draft Constitution, thus going into effect.
On December 3rd, 2024, the Constitution was amended to include a bill of rights.
