What is the Republic of Tinland?
The Republic of Tinland (more commonly known as: "the confederation"), is an independent and self-proclaimed republic, that declared its independence on January 15th, 2020, and is located in North America. The Republic of Tinland, founded in protest against the United States Presidency of Donald Trump, is founded on the principles of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
The Territory of the Republic of Tinland
Much like many other micronations, the Republic of Tinland is a territorial micronation consisting of multiple States and Territories, all of which are claimed by the Villages of Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Lemont, and Plainfield. However, although the Republic of Tinland claims to have control over the lands outlined and highlighted on the map, it truly only has control over multiple buildings.
The Flag of the Republic of Tinland
The Flag of the Republic of Tinland was first formed before even the independence or constitutional convention of the Republic of Tinland, with the flag being created in 2018. The flag of the Republic of Tinland is a diagonal dual-colored flag with the two colors of the Republic of Tinland, them being yellow and white, while a five-pointed star is in the top left corner of the flag. There is officially no meaning for the star or the colors on the flag of the Republic of Tinland.
The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Tinland
The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Tinland is a symbol of the Government of the Republic of Tinland and is used on official documents of the government, including statements of the President of the Republic and the rules of procedure of the National Assembly. The Coat of Arms is a yellow five-point star surrounded by a yellow circle, placed against a white background. When drafting the Coat of the Arms, it was proposed to have the words "democratia, libertas et iustitia" or "Democracy, Freedom, and Justice", but the words were eventually removed for more modern styling.
