Q : How do I get promoted? 

A : By obtaining honor, the equivalent of points for TNI, you make steady progress towards achieving the next rank. The higher your rank is, the more honor that is required to get promoted again. If you wish to go beyond Ensign you must follow progression system which is explained in ⁠the progression channel. You are given access to it once you reach rank of Sergeant First Class+. 

Q : How do I get honor? 

A : You obtain honor by attending official TNI events that are announced in the #shouts channel on a daily basis. Honor amounts vary based on the event type and how well you perform during an event.

Trooper - 20 Honor required

Q : How do I check my honor? 

A : It can be checked by doing /xp [username] in the #bot-cmds channel. 

Q : How do I get promoted to Sub-Officer+? (Ability to host events) 

A : As a Sergeant First Class, you must co-host at least three qualifying events in a period of two weeks. Once you complete your three events, you then fill out an Progression Verify form. Someone from the Progression department will contact you for your Official Evaluation. If you pass with the minimum of a 80% you will be given the Lieutenant Exam. If you fail to reach the minimum score, you’ll have to co-host new events and submit a new Event Verify. After you submit your exam for Sub-Lieutenant, you will then be voted on by the Progression Committee.

Q : When’s the next event? 

A : They are random, so you really never know when one could be hosted. Make sure to watch the Events Category! 

Q : I'm being over-run at the border and need assistance what do I do? 

A : Simply go to the #reinforcements-request channel and post your profile link (Make sure everyone is allowed to join you).

Q : How do I get promoted in my division? 

A : Just like in TNI, events are hosted in division specific Discords found in #division-discords. Simply participate in their group specific events to be promoted. All Units, Military Police, and Vanguards use their independent honor systems. Check your honor by doing n!honor [username] in the #bot-cmds channel within that division's Discord.

Q : How do I update my username? 

A : To update your username/roles do !update in #bot-cmds 

Q : How do I report an abusive officer? 

A : By filling out this form! Be sure to get proof of any abuse for a stronger case! Officer Misconduct Form

Q : What are medals? 

A : Medals are prestigious awards handed out to the best of the best of TNI. You can view which ones you have when you check your honor in your profile. Each medal has different requirements for being earned. Medal Document. 

Q    : When am I allowed to use the spectate tool on the border? 

A    : You are allowed to use the spectate tool to find exploiters or to check if anyone is breaking any rule. Example: TNI going outside passed the rebel encampment sign, TNI going in the IPC armoury

Keep in mind that you are not allowed to use the spectate tool to find and shoot rebels or to check if citizens have guns.

Q    : If an exploiter keeps killing all TNI, am I allowed to spam use the !respawn command to hold him off until a Lieutenant arrives? 

A    : Absolutely not, the respawn command is used to give warnings to anyone breaking rules. You must not use it to fight an exploiter, request for a Lieutenant in #exploiter-report.

Q    : Am I allowed to share funny punishment logs or put punishment logs in a public place? 

A    : No, you must never put screenshots of punishments in a public place unless everyone in the chat has access to punishment logs.

Q    : How much time do I get for logging my punishments?

A    : You get a time period of 24 hours from the minute you levy a punishment on a TNI, be it a server mute, kick or ban. If you do not log it under 24 hours, you will receive a warning from the Justice Committee for having an unlogged punishment. 

Q    : What is the correct way of permanently banning an individual who was bypassing filters?

A    : You must warn the individual once, if they still bypass then you are allowed to permanently ban them. However, it is necessary that you take proof when permanently banning them.

Q    : What commands am I allowed to use in someone else's event (Not on the border)? 

A    : You are only allowed to use :respawn command and only in the case when the host is not able to respawn you. If you want to kick/ban a person for spamming or being toxic, you must have the permission from the host.

Q    : Can I tell a TNI their recent punishment?

A    : Yes, you can tell a TNI his/her recent punishment, and even give a screenshot of his/her punishment log. However, it should not include other punishments.

Q    : As a sub-officer, am I allowed to respawn/kick/ban a member of the Military Police from the border?

A    : No, you must utilize the misconduct form for MP. You are not allowed to use admin on them since they outrank you on the border hierarchy. 

Q    : Am I allowed to ban someone who is blatantly using a combat related exploit?

A    : If it is very obvious (FPS aimlock), then you are able to ban the person temporarily but must have it approved by EIS (Exploit Investigation Squad) in #exploit-review.

Q    :  What is the correct procedure to deal with a rule breaker on the border?

A    : The correct way is: Respawn/Arrest --> Kick --> Ban/Temporary ban. 

Q    : If a person is named IlIlIlIl and the command bot writes many names when I am permanently banning them, what do I do?

A    : These types of kicks/bans would be counted as accidental bans/kicks and do not have to be logged in the punishment logs.

Q    : When does the Officer Quota reset?

A    : Officer Quota resets every Saturday at 11:59 PM EST. Make sure events are submitted before that deadline each week.

Q    : Am I allowed to permanently ban individuals for impersonation?

A    : You are only allowed to permanently ban individuals if they pretend to be someone that is a higher authority and purposely using powers they don't have. Do not ban those who simply have a similar name.

Q    : A person is breaking rules and has been punishments many times, am I allowed to permanently ban him?

A    : The answer is no, you may only permanently ban an individual if they are exploiting or bypassing the filter (Follow the correct procedure) unless permission has been granted by an Arch Admiral+.

Q    : If I see an exploiter on the discord who has been permanently banned, what do I do?

A    : Report it to a Colonel+ so that they can ban them from the Nighthawk Communications Discord.

Q    : Someone has a NSFW profile picture or status, what can I do?

A    : Follow the general procedure, warn them once. If they refuse to remove it, then either deduct honor from them or contact a Captain+ to kick them from the discord.

Q    : Am I allowed to host a Combat Training without a co-host?

A    : Under no circumstance, are you allowed to host a Combat Training without a co-host as a Lieutenant. Your co-host must be an Ensign+.

Q    : Am I supposed to log kicks/bans at TNI facilities (Exodus, Arcon etc) other than the Border?

A    : No, you must only log them if they are permanent bans at TNI facilities other than the border.
