Place

Place: The concept of place involves giving a structure meaning. The SuperDome has given people from all over the world many different emotions through the experiences they have enjoyed and even endured there.(15)

Since the opening of the "Dome" many sporting events of historical significance have taken place within its spaces. One of those events took place on September 15, 1978, and I was privileged enough to be taken by my parents to see my all-time hero, Muhammad Ali, fight Leon Spinks for the boxing heavy weight championship of the world. Attendance that night was listed at 65,000 and it was the greatest spectacle that I am likely to ever be a part of. (2) Image (3).

The final cost of the SuperDome was $179 million. It guaranteed the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana a football franchise which became the New Orleans Saints. (4) Image (5)
