After taking Gateway to Technology I and II in my middle school years, I did not take another Project Lead the Way class until I was a junior in high school. This class was commonly called I.E.D, or Introduction to Engineering Design. It was my first actual engineering class in high school, and it taught me all the basics. The main concept we were taught was the design process, which we used over and over to complete different engineering tasks, some with actual materials that we had to manipulate and others using a 3-D modeling software called Autodesk Inventor.
Over the course of a year, I completed three major design projects: a puzzle cube, a reverse engineering project, and a design-your-own desk accessory project. All three of these projects were completed individually. At the end of the course, I wrote a final report on all of these projects in a final project portfolio, which I have attached below.
To the right is a picture of the final 3-D model of my design-your-own desk accessory. The product is more thoroughly described in my final report.
