Palepaw is the first to wake when she sees a mysterious white she-cat who looks over each kit in turn before staring at Palepaw then disappearing.
When Palepaw wakes up she talks to her brother, Shadowpaw, about her dream but didn’t go into any details.

FrozenBush and PineStep wake the kits and the apprentice ceremony is begun! ShadowPaw gets Pinestep as a mentor, PalePaw gets the medicine cat as her mentor, and Fogpaw gets the leader as her mentor but will be watched by Peakfalls during her first outing.

Pale and Shadows mother pulls them aside and tells them to get a mushroom for the sick cats back at camp. After they catch up the party reaches a wall of snow and the apprentices begin to dig. Shadowpaw does very well with digging while Palepaw and Fogpaw struggle. Palepaw tries to hide her injury in order to look stronger but Fogpaw flips out after cutting her paw, blaming the warriors for not warning her, she pouts for a bit after seeing the praise Shadowpaw receives from PineStep before being encouraged to continue by Fogpaw’s fellow apprentices. They manage to get through the wall after quite a bit of back and fourth from the apprentices and warriors and they all look upon the gathering place. A few large pools and rocks with a large treestump in the center of one pool.

Entering the clearing there is a bear! Palepaw sneaks past it and gets a mushroom before they all run. Afterwards Peakfalls leaves and the rest of them hunt. Pinestep is quick to bully around PalePaw and FogPaw and rushes to praise anything ShadowPaw does. Fogpaw takes a ton of damage from falling out of a tree. They get a squirrel and a dove.

Once home Palepaw and ShadowPaw talk to their mom and after Shadowpaw leaves Palepaw explains her vision to her mother. MoonBlink expresses her distrust for the celestial cats before they go back to sorting herbs. PeakFalls and Pinestep sit outside of the warriors den to speak, They give themselves an A+ as Fogpaw sneaks past them.

Peakfalls definitely likes PineStep and she toys with his heart a bit. FogPaw finds LeopardStar and reports to him, he struggles to take her seriously and begins to mess with her fur and she quickly turns him down trying to remain professional. LeopardStar is quickly called away by another cat leaving Fog to go to the medicine den and get healed. She can’t help but feel like LeopardStar is hiding something from her.

She explains the situation to both PalePaw and ShadowPaw, FogPaw and ShadowPaw have a pleasant conversation before heading off to bed.
