Our Mission
This project is dedicated to the older Korean-American community, persons over the age of 60, many of whom are unable to share their slice of life with others.
This project is hey are susceptible to memory loss and even dementia. By having them tell their story, I hope to document memories and bring them to life for others to remember and never forget their place in our world. Many have had a shift in mindset/perspective due to monumental events in their lifetime. Now, I seek to share their stories with an audience that may never know about it otherwise.
Hello! My name is Irene and I am a part of Oxford Academy's graduating class of 2024. My life has been shaped by the overloading love and influence of my family. Recently, as I listened to the fun and emotional tales shared by my aunts and uncles about their childhood, I realized the great value these stories hold. Inspired to preserve these treasures, I reached out to the elders in my community—whether at church, through volunteering, or within the circle of family friends. Through heartfelt interviews, my mission became to share these cherished stories with the world.
