• Cultural Exploration: He took the opportunity to visit major cultural sites, including the Louvre Museum and the Luxembourg Garden.

• Cost of Living: He found Paris to be exceptionally expensive.

Having completed his medical degree in Madrid, his goal was now to fully specialize in ophthalmology under the mentorship of a renowned expert.

• Ophthalmology Training: He specialized under the famous ophthalmologist Dr. Louis de Weckert, allowing him to rapidly improve his knowledge and practical skill in the field.

• Involvement with Filipino Artists: He frequented the studio of his friend, artist Juan Luna, and served as a model, posing for the historical paintings The Death of Cleopatra and The Blood Compact.
