Southampton City Gallery Exhibition

The Keepers are pleased and proud to have an exhibition currently showing at the Southampton City Art Gallery.

Our exhibition is called The Keepers: COMMON-ING, and celebrates our combined view of the natural landscape, influenced by the galleries own collection of 'land art', as part of the communities choice program. Eight members have participated creating artwork in a number of mediums, both in 2d, 3d and video.

After working together for over a year, we’re excited to bring our work together in this exhibition, exploring different ideas, perspectives and collective creative responses to the collection. Delving into the galleries collection, they have found common threads that link past subjects with contemporary concerns for a show that reconnects us with our shared, natural environment.

The title 'Common-ing' is a link to Southampton Common where some exploratory ideas were formed. A lot of our exhibited work also takes inspiration from Hutt Wood, a local area between Southampton and Eastleigh.

Visits to the gallery are free for all exhibitions. Our exhibition runs from the 17th October until the 31st January 2027.
