We've all heard about the month where the lads can have an excuse not to shave. We find out how a group of locals are raising funds for charity.
Every man has gone through the phase of growing facial hair just to discover if they could. Those who go all the way have to pick a style and grooming. There's a few iconic characters with moustaches and beards: Charlie Chaplin, Tom Selleck, Hulk Hogan, Burt Reynolds ........ quiet a few you can think of but can't imagine without their facial hair.
Movember is normally associated with Men's Health but they're using it as a fun opportunity to raise awareness and funding for a local school.
In 2017 St Marys Special School located in Old Johnstown Village celebrated their 40th year.
Over 90 students attend from all over Meath and the borders of Cavan, Louth and Dublin. They are still waiting to have their purpose made building alongside St Stephens National School and C Na Mi Secondary School to complete the Johnstown School Campus. It's been a long time coming and still no end in sight.
There will be opportunity to make cash donations via sponsorship of any of the participants - you should be able to recognise their unshaven faces over the coming weeks.
You can make a cash donation into the collection buckets at O'Briens Bar and Restaurant, Old Johnstown Village.
We'll help advertise the 'BIG SHAVE' night planned for the end of the month where we'll see the results of not shaving for 30 days .
