Summertime Grind!

Hello y'all it has been a while! I have been super busy with my semester so blogging plans sort of fell out the window. Junior-year Engineering Classes are not for the weak! A little life update! I started a new internship at TE Connectivity this summer, which has been so far pretty fun and I have been learning a lot of material science, electrical engineering, and programming. I have also been trying to continue to regularly work on my research task and get ready to present at the ASB Conference over the summer. Over the summer I hope to get a couple of my side projects complete including updating this website and start looking into grad school. I have also started to start boxing to combat my stress and get more healthy. I will keep y'all in touch on my progress!

New Year, Website Building

Hey, Welcome to the first official blog on my website. A while back I had the idea to build my website for my portfolio after deciding that a PDF and Slideshow would no longer cut it for showcasing my personality and work. Initially, I was going to keep it simple and only have a few pages that show a couple of work examples but then I thought to myself why stop there so I added a blog to talk about cool ideas that come to my mind after seeing that idea online somewhere. I also made my website more immersive and will periodically add and update new stuff on it. Eventually, I want to integrate my website fully onto a server somewhere and be able to hand-code everything in HTML, CSS, and JAVA to be able to work outside the constrain of a Google site. This is one of the many projects that I work on during my free time outside of classes and I hope to have most of the general stuff completed by March. Anyway, I hope this gives you some ideas about why I decided to build a website and where I plan to take it in the future. Thank you for coming to my first blog.

Boxing and Coasting!

Hey again! As part of my commitment to focusing on this webpage, I will try to blog weekly up until school starts again. This week has been pretty eventful at work. My boss was out on vacation but I got to do a lot of material testing and CAD work making great progress on some wire harness testing fixtures that I am building. I also got to take my first official business trip down to Winston-Salem, NC and got to see some of TE's manufacturing processes down there and meet some other interns from the NC area. Lastly, I have finally got caught up with file analysis for research and the next few weeks should slow down a bit and allow me to focus on writing grant and award proposals. I have also decided to increase the time I spend boxing to every day Monday to Thursday. Volunteering has hit a snag since it has been hard to find an opening at Habitat for Humanity during the weekend (ugh church groups) but I'll keep trying to volunteer at least once a week. It is a fun way to work out more! It is from me for this week and I will catch up with y'all next week!
