The Ferret-Badger of Borneo

Although this fledgling website devotes itself fiercely to this great ferret-badger, this devotion is, for the most part, in spirit. We {I} will not hear a word against this remarkable creature; the summary devastation (mainly by way of syntax, jarringly trochaic, spontaneous versifying, and epoch-defining---and nearly entirely un-understood---epithets...) of the perpetrator is certain. But upcoming junkets to the mighty isle from which this enigmatic, non-migrant Melogale hails, are decidedly few in number. Pages on this site featuring painstaking, rigorous research on this non-gyrovague of the shrubland, One suspects, might well be somewhat difficult to locate. But: we {I} feel strongly that, though at times the subject matter might *seemingly* have little to do with the Bornean quadruped, eventually a pattern (of sorts) will emerge, and we'll find it was really there all the time...in a certain sense. We {I} hope you enjoy your forays herein.

You, the reader, are soon likely to ruminate pensively about the human condition, whilst weeping quietly to yourself, from the sheer, unfathomable depth of this upcoming Deeply Moral Moment. You'll appreciate my candor: I, and I alone, am utterly and completely responsible for the "cult" website The Epauletted Fruitbat ( the site itself, though formidable in many ways, still cannot challenge its namesake in eternal Greatness...) (but what could...?). And: I fully, and unrepentantly, intend to "lift" certain particularly poignant pieces from this site Wholesale, without even the passing thought of revision, fact-checking, or anything of the kind. The sheer irrefutable power of prose, image, and whatnot, will be more than enough to haunt the very heavens. So. There's that.

The Dark Azure "Button" with the confounding Latin phrase which means...well, it depends on whom one asks. Seamus Heaney decided to translate it thusly: "There are tears at the heart of things". Others have not. It's from Virgil's Aeneid, by the way. OK. If one "clicks" on this "Button"...and there will be other, even more terrifying ones on subsequent Pages...this thing *should* route one to the next page.
