In the Infant Room, we strive to provide your child with the best care around! We know you are leaving your most precious little one with us and that can be nerve racking to a parent. However, when your child is in our care, we treat them as our own and show them so much love.
In addition to meeting the babies’ basic needs such as eating, drinking, and diapering, we will begin to fill their little minds with valuable skills and knowledge.
We will focus on the beginning of their fine motor, gross motor, social, emotional, cognitive, language, and even their creative skills. Each day we will provide your child with experiences, that will encourage growth in all areas.
Below you'll find all the information and items you will need to bring for your child. Our journey begins with caring for your child’s basic needs and working with you to meet the developmental goals mentioned above. To do this we will converse with you each morning about your child’s evening and morning at home. At the end of the day (pick-up), we will talk with you about your child’s day.
Communication is of most importance between parent’s and teachers. Please inform us of any changes in your child’s schedule, behavior, overall well-being (if they didn’t sleep well, refused food, etc.). This helps us to care for your child while in the Infant Room. We too will communicate with you if your child is exhibiting any changes here.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to watch your children grow (along with you).
In the Infant Room, we follow each child’s individual schedule. Please inform a teacher every morning about your child’s last feeding and diaper change to keep your child on his/her schedule. A feeding schedule will be available for your signature indicating what time and how much your child eats. When it changes, you will be asked to sign a new feeding schedule. As your child gets older and begins to transition to the Young Toddler room, we will begin transitioning your child to the Young Toddler schedule.

RESOURCES FOR LABELING
All items for your baby must be LABELED (including bottles). We strongly recommend purchasing one of these labeling systems. The www.namebubbles.com website makes labels that are waterproof and dishwasher safe. Another great site is www.inchbug.com. This company makes stretch labels that go around bottles and sippy cups. Both products will last much longer than a sharpie saving you the hassle of labeling items every day and preventing us from having to call you if your items (bottles/sippy cups, etc.) are not labeled.
Upon enrollment, we offer you the opportunity to bring your child in for a few hours the week or two prior to their start date. During your child’s transition, each teacher will spend time with your child, singing, reading, one-on-one time, getting to know your child. This is in addition to meeting your child’s basic needs (eating and diapering). When it is time to transition to the Young Toddler Room, we have a schedule that permits your child to visit the Young Toddler Room to get acquainted with the teachers, schedule, and the other children in the room. Group transitions take place a week or two prior to the group moving to the Young Toddler Room.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends and DHS requires, that your child be placed in their crib on their back, with no blankets or “lovies.” We can use sleep sacks if you choose to bring one. Binkies are also permitted if they are not attached to a “stuffy.” Around the age of nine months, we will begin transitioning your child to a pack-n-play for napping. This is to prepare your child for the change that will take place when they move to the Young Toddler room.
If your child drinks breast milk, please bring it already thawed and in your child’s labeled bottle each day. Bottle must have their first and last name on it. Preferrably with the date on it.
We cannot have frozen milk or milk in bags in the fridge as it sometimes leaks. This causes a mess in the refrigerator and your baby will not receive their necessary amount for that feeding.
We ask that you bring in some frozen bags of milk (labeled) to keep as a backup to put in our refrigerator freezer.
Per DHS Regulation once breast milk is heated up and touches the infants lips it must be used within two hours or disposed of after that time. We know that every drop of milk is precious and we try our best to time it when your child is showing hunger signs and we will try to offer itm ultiple times if they do not finish the bottle.
Per our DHS representative, we are not allowed to use any type of teething necklace or bracelet for your child. We can use teething oils or tablets if the parent provides a signed doctor’s note since both are ingestible.
We love to take the babies outside. We make every effort to get outside daily. We try our best to get every child outside every day, however, sometimes a child may have a need or be napping when we go out. If this happens, we do try to go out later in the day or even the next day, we take the child(ren) who did not go the first time.
In addition to the required sunscreen (6 months & up), please bring your child some type of hat.
The strollers have canopies, but they do not cover the front two seats.
We have an infant playyard that we strive to get out to as well.
