From the inception of the Center there have been numerous Leagues in Center History.
Nintendo Baseball League
Fall 1996
The very first League, which actually pre-dated the official founding of the Center was the Nintendo Baseball League. The original competitors were, David Harbatkin, Geza Lutsky, Chris Ochipinti, and Dan McCafferty. After realizing how insanely dedicated to the League, Dan said, "You guys are way too serious" after a baseball game which he lost to Chris Ochipinti in the Nintendo Baseball League, the first ever league. After he said this, he subsequently quit the league, the first to ever quit a league. The League subsequently folded.
Basement Football League
1997
The Basement Football League was a League that lasted 3 seasons, and was one of the most competitive Leagues in Center history. The championship game was initially known as The Center Bowl, while what has been come to be known as the Center Bowl was originally called the Center Super Bowl Game, so as not to confuse the two. However, the annual game played on Super Bowl Sunday ended up being called the Center Bowl.
The BFL champion all three seasons was Geza Lutsky. The winner was awarded the Randy Watson Trophy, named after Eddie Murphy's character in the Movie Coming to America. As the first major Center League, the tradition of singing along with the version of the song "The Greatest Love of All" performed by Sexual Chocolate after any Center Championship started with this League.
Basement Tetris League
1997-2000
Tetris was quite different from many other leagues as it was not a direct head to head competition. Instead, players would vie to see who could get the most lines, and was a rolling competition. The Champion would be in possession of the Clay Plate, the person with the second most lines would have the Karl, and the third place would hold the Hans. These plates were named for characters from the movie Die Hard, though ironically the Hans plate was the lowest level plate, despite him being the lead bad guy. However, the Clay in the Clay plate referred to the name Hans gave John McClaine, so technically, it is sort of named after the lead bad guy.
Basement Hockey League
1997-2000
The Basment Hockey League is the pinnacle of Center Leagues. It lasted 20 seasons, spanning 4 years, involved the most shenanigans, rivalries, and traditions of all the Center Leagues, and so much lure has its foundation in the BHL. The champion of the BHL won the Semmi Cup, named after Semmi of Zamunda, Arsenio Hall's character in Coming to America.

Basement Basketball Association
1998
The Basement Basketball Association only lasted about one long weekend, during the Super Bowl in 1998 in Brooklyn. It's signature highlight was when LeVar had a 2 point lead on Geza Lutsky, who hurled an impossible last nano-second full court shot to win the game. After that LeVar, who was the Commissioner suddenly lost interest and the league collapsed. It was also the first League to be played on Playstation.
Basement Boxing Organization
1998
The Basement Boxing Organization was a very brief league. Evander Holyfield's boxing was the game, and players would have to train their own boxer and fight one another. The League folded after it's main event fight, where one of the greatest upsets in Center History took place, where David Harbatkin actually beat the heavily favored LeVar Minor.
Center Xbox Football League
2012
The Center Xbox Football League was the first major league after college. It was played online, and was comprised of players on both coasts.
It brought the Center Leagues into the 21st Century. Utilizing online game play, all of the fun of the Rutgers Cyber Athletic Association's "Basement" Leagues can be captured once again in the midst of our post-college lives. With the first Center League in over a decade, we've moved from Livingston to our Living Rooms!
Unlike the first season which only had one conference, with Geza Lutsky and David Harbatkin playing against his roommates and neighbor, the second season will have 2 Conferences, pitting traditional Center Members from the East Coast against one another as well as the West Coast players from the 1st season, ultimately culminating in a Championship Game between the Eastern and Western Conference Champions.
