The original symbol of The Center was the Globe, mostly because it was an easy symbol to place on the letterhead that was used in the early days at the computer labs at Rutgers. It eventually came to represent the global acceptance of all who wanted to be a part of the Organization.
The flag that was adopted, with Red, Green & Blue stripes, is representative of the RGB color model for the sensing, representation and display of images in electronic systems, such as televisions and computers. Since early days were so heavily focused on televisions and video game technology it pays homage to the founding activities of the organization.
