Lee Mueller
Meet Our New Director!
Originally from the Philadelphia, PA area, Lee is a former member of both the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Bloomsburg State College, PA where he held assistant choral director positions for various choir groups, in addition to being Music Director for a local community choir. He then spent two years of graduate studies at Bowling Green State University, OH, in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting. After college, Lee spent 6 years singing with the Opera Company of Philadelphia Chorus in numerous operas and performed in various community productions. He has performed various roles, including Sky Masterson in "Guys and Dolls," Eisenstein in "Die Fledermaus," Woody Mahoney in "Finian's Rainbow," and Billy Bigelow in "Carousel." After moving to Clermont, FL in 2015, Lee became a member of the Opera Orlando chorus, performing in additional operas, and last year also performed the role of Betto in Opera Orlando's production of "Gianni Schicchi." Moving again in 2019 to The Villages, his Savannah debut was as Bill Austin in "Mamma Mia." followed by the Inn Keeper in "Man of La Mancha," Captain von Trapp in "Sound of Music," the Pirate King in "Pirates of Penzance" and most recently earlier this month as Horace Vandergelder in "Hello Dolly!," a production in which he was also assistant music director. He has also performed in various benefit concerts in The Villages including "Carols by Candlelight," Mary Jo Vitale's MS Fundraisers, Villagers for Veterans "Angels Wings" concert and others. Lee has been married to his beautiful wife Cynthia (Cyndi) for over 40 years. They have a daughter, son, daughter-in-law, one grandson and a granddaughter on the way. Lee currently continues his 40-year career selling medical disposable products as an Independent Manufacturer's Sales Rep. He assists his wife with her business, Mueller Insurance Inc., doing retirement investment seminars. He is honored and excited to be the Music Director of The Villages Pops Chorus.
