In loving memory of
Bill Davis -- Our Director Emeritus
Remembering the man who started it all for The Villages Pops Chorus.
Bill Davis founded the Pops Chorus in December 2013 and guided us through thirty successful concerts over the years. He built a chorus rooted in the joy of popular music—an approach that quickly resonated with Villagers and consistently filled the 1,600 seats at North Lake Presbyterian Church for every pair of performances.
Bill also proudly led the effort that generated over $350,000 in charitable donations from these concerts, supporting numerous local organizations throughout our community.
His vision didn’t stop there. Bill created the Pops Chorus Folk Quartet and later the Pops Chorus Folksingers, who each year presented the beloved “Give A Hoot” hootenanny. That event alone regularly drew more than 800 enthusiastic patrons, all eager to sing the “music of our lives” together.
Bill’s leadership, musicianship, kindness, and humor shaped a legacy and countless memories we will always carry with us. He will be deeply missed.
The Villages Pops Chorus is proud to honor its longstanding tradition of generosity.
Since 2014, the passion of our singers, paired with the steadfast support of our audiences, has enabled us to contribute more than $325,000 to exceptional local charities.
The photo shown here captures our formal donation to Our Moment Café, a memory café supporting partners living with dementia. This gift is one of ten $1,000 contributions we awarded in January 2026 as part of our ongoing commitment to community impact.
