Một mai, một cuốc, một cần câu
Thơ thẩn dầu ai vui thú nào
Ta dại, ta tìm nơi vắng vẻ
Người khôn, người đến chốn lao xao
Thu ăn măng trúc, đông ăn giá
Xuân tắm hồ sen, hạ tắm ao
Rượu đến bóng cây ta hãy uống
Nhìn xem phú quý tựa chiêm bao.
One spade, one hoe, one fishing rod
With a lounging mind to enjoy whatever activities.
A fool that I am, I seek a quiet place.
Those who are smart go to bustling places.
In autumn, feasts on bamboo shoots, and in winter – mung bean sprouts.
In spring, bathes in lotus lakes, and in summer – water ponds.
When wine arrives, under the tree's shade, let's drink,
Look and see how wealth resembles a fleeting dream.
