Summary:
On June 9, 2025, at approximately 1300 hours, the San Bernardino Police Department received a 911 call reporting a suspicious male in the area. The caller described the subject as a male, approximately 5'6" tall, weighing 170 lbs, wearing a white shirt, red pants, and having rainbow-dyed afro-style hair.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Normandi, where the subject was observed walking eastbound behind the Pleasant Oaks Homes. Upon attempting to make contact, the male subject immediately fled on foot. Officers gave multiple lawful commands to stop, which the subject ignored.
During the foot pursuit, the subject reached into his waistband and produced what appeared to be a firearm. The weapon was later identified as a Glock 17 pistol equipped with an illegal automatic conversion device, commonly known as a "switch." At this point, an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.
