My current primary expeirmental focus is on Romano-British Salt Production as it would have been known to the Roman citizens in the province of Britannia durring the 1-3rd centuries AD . This is the area modernly known asGreat Brittian in the United Kingdom. I have done research on solar evaporation ponds which were in use in warmer climates but due to the colder and more humid climate in Britannia forced heat evaporation was preferred and this is my primary focus.
For a general overview please visit my Salt in Ancient Rome Page under the Salt History section and for more detailed information about forced heat salt production experiments please see my pages on Briquetage and Lead Pan Salt Production.
