Like many islands, the Mossfells have a variety of climates due to variations in altitude, humidity, and temperature. The island's unique position at the confluence of cold and warm water currents provide both rich nutrients and a warming presence. This, along with several other factors, has given the older islands in the chain the moniker "The Bountiful Isles". Each of the islands' climates is shaped by their geology and position, which in turn has shaped the life present on the Mossfells.
