The NSW RFS prioritises community engagement to educate and empower the public on bushfire risks and preparedness. This often includes engaging with schools and working with communities to reduce the risk of bush fires.
In the Hills District, community engagement events are held regularly, and support from Comms personnel is highly valued when assistance is requested.

To participate in Community Engagement initiatives, all RFS crew must complete the Introduction to Community Engagement (ICE) online training via RFS FUEL platform.
