I was born in Springfield, Illinois, but because of my mom's work, I've lived in Amarillo, Texas; Canyon, Texas; Lafeyette, Louisiana; West Monroe, Louisiana; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Arlington, Illinois; and Roswell, Georgia.
I don't find a lot of time to relax in between work and school, but when I can find it, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends, hiking, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my cat, Cher.
This bill advocated for students to be called by their name given to them at birth specifying that they could only be called by another name if they were to get their parents approval in writing.
My sophomore year of college, I became invested in education in a different manner than I had before. With the help of close friends, I testified in the Louisiana educational house committee to advocate for queer rights in education. These moments are some of my proudest as I got to stand by my peers and champion for reform in education.
This bill advocated for the elimination of queer topics in curriculum.
