Changes to TFU Handbook - AUGUST 2026
This policy will outline the expectations and regulations of a Tactical Firearms Training Officer (TFTO).
2.1 TFTOs are expected to maintain an active presence on the PLPD Discord, PERPHeads server & PLPD Online.
2.2 TFTOs are expected to ensure they are marking applications correctly and fairly, mismarking applications may result in disciplinary action.Â
2.3 TFTOs must notify TFU Command if they are unable to mark applications or attend practical stages / training sessions, not doing so will result in disciplinary action.
2.4 TFTOs should not be granted access to any TFTO functionalities prior to receiving a formal induction. This can be attendance at a session, or other detailed, sufficient training.
3.1 TFTOs are expected to remain a professional example to all other officers within the PD. Breaking this professionalism may result in disciplinary action from Tactical Firearms Command.
3.2 TFTOs are expected to remain professional at all times whilst on TeamSpeak (police channels), PLPD discord and on PLPD Online.
3.3 The TFU Teamspeak channels should only be joined when you are in or preparing for a training session. This can be overridden by a command member of TFU or higher.
4.1 TFTOs are expected to meet the following minimum activity requirements each calendar month:
Attend at least one training session.
Participate in at least one practical training session as a marker, or mark at least one written stage.
4.2 Where a TFTO has significantly contributed towards Tactical Firearms during said calendar month, failure to meet the requirements outlined in 4.1 will not result in disciplinary action at the discretion of TFU Command.
4.3 Examples of positively contributing towards Tactical Firearms include, but are not limited to:
Marking three or more written stages
Maintaining perfect attendance throughout the relevant calendar month
Other contributions that demonstrate an equivalent level of activity, as deemed by TFU Command
4.4 Failure to meet the expectations outlined in this policy may constitute disciplinary action.
