1 - Terminology
Here you will find all definitions for terminology used in the TFU policies.
1.1 'PLPD' will represent the organisation: Paralake Police Department.
1.2 'PLPD personnel', ‘Officers’ refers to any whitelisted persons involved in the activities of PLPD either directly or indirectly.
1.3 'Server' refers to the PERPHeads community PERP server.
1.4 ‘TFU’ refers to the Tactical Firearms Unit.
1.5 ‘Tactical Firearms Officer’ (TFO) refers to any officer who is a member of the Tactical Firearms Unit.
1.6 ‘Tactical Firearms Incident Commander’ (TFIC) refers to a member of the Tactical Firearms Unit who holds the Tactical Firearms Incident Commander Certification.
1.7 ‘Standard Tactical Firearms Officer’ (STFO) refers to a member of the Tactical Firearms Unit who holds the Tactical Firearms Officer Certification.
1.8 ‘Recruit Tactical Firearms Officer’ (RTFO) refers to a member of the Tactical Firearms Unit who holds the Tactical Firearms Recruit Certification.
1.9 ‘Head of OS’ refers to the Line Manager of the Operations Services division.
1.10 ‘Tactical Firearms Command’ refers to members of the TFU command team.
1.11 ‘Tactical Firearms Training Officer’ (TFTO) refers to members of the Tactical Firearms Unit who hold the rank of Training Officer.
1.12 ‘Supervisors’ refers to officers ranked Sergeant or higher.
1.13 ‘Reinstate’ means returning to the Tactical Firearms Unit after having resigned and being absent for a significant period of time.
1.14 ‘Probationary’ refers to any member of the Tactical Firearms Unit who is on internal probation.
1.15 ‘Quality Control Panel’ (QCP) refers to any form of mandatory retraining or a Supervised Patrol, following misconduct.
1.16 ‘Blacklist’ Is a period of time where an officer will not be able to apply for a role within the Tactical Firearms Unit.
1.17 ‘Internal disciplinary’ refers to any form of internal punishment within TFU.
1.18 ‘TFU Gear’ is the armour that is worn when requested from the armoury.
1.19 ‘Heavy Gear’ refers to the armour defined by ‘Heavy Gear’ in the armoury that gives TFOs access to the wider arsenal and greater body armour.
1.20 ‘Light Gear’ refers to the armour defined by ‘Light Gear’ in the armoury that gives TFOs access to the confined arsenal and lesser body armour.
1.21 ‘TFU Equipment’ refers to any equipment given from the Armoury that is not handed out to normal Officers.
1.22 ‘Close Quater Battle’ (CQB) refers to combat where the aggressor and officer are within close vicinity of each other. Close vicinity is a relatively short distance, or when both the aggressor and the TFO are within the confines of the same building.
1.23 ‘Patrol‘ refers to the presence of police officers around the city. Officers on patrol can either be assigned to designated areas within the city or can roam freely.
