On February 14, The Knot unveiled the results of their annual Real Weddings Survey.
The 20 largest U.S. metropolitan regions were represented in the survey, with their average wedding costs provided.
New York City hosted the most expensive weddings, while ceremonies in Phoenix, Arizona, were the most reasonably priced.

This study highlighted that The Knot obtained its data from 11,646 engaged couples in the US between January 1 and December 31, 2022, and that this data was supplemented by information from "ad hoc" studies. It takes a year for The Knot to complete.

The Knot also noted that couples are more concerned than ever about the cost of their wedding.
There was a significant increase from 38% in 2021 to 49% in 2022 of newlyweds saying they made decisions concerning their weddings based on the economy.

According to The Knot, the cost of wedding venues increased by the greatest margin from 2021 to 2022.

The survey found that the average cost of a florist for a couple getting married in 2022 was $2,400, making it comparable to the cost of a photographer.
The cost of the food and drink for a wedding reception in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, was estimated at $28,000.

The overall cost of a caterer will vary based on the number of guests, but on average, The Knot reported that in 2012, couples spent $75 per person on catering.

Also, the survey found that the average amount a couple spent on each guest was higher.
According to data compiled by The Knot, the average cost of inviting a guest to a wedding in 2022 was $256.
