These steps should allow you to use your ingame microphone so you can communicate with other players ingame.
STEP 1 - Permissions
- Click START, type 'Settings'
- Select 'Settings' to reveal Windows Settings page.
- Select 'Privacy' and then 'Microphone' on sidebar.
- Set "Allow apps to access your microphone" to 'On'.
- Scroll down the list "Choose which apps can access your microphone" and select 'Sea of Thieves' and set it to 'On'
STEP 2 - Microphone is selected
- Click START, type 'Settings'
- Select 'Settings' to reveal Windows Settings page.
- Select 'System' and then 'Sound' on sidebar.
- Select correct 'Input Device' and test in that window.
STEP 3 - Enabling Push-To-Talk Ingame
- Load 'Sea of Thieves' and enter a session.
- Press ESC and go to ingame settings and change the following settings: Enable push-to-talk , Directional voice, Voice-chat indicators on.
- Press 'Left Alt' every time you want to talk and you'll see a chat icon appear; this applies to teammates too.
- Note: directional voice does not apply to people in the same group and it will sound like they are close by.
- You can increase your broadcast range with players by using the megaphone weapon in your inventory.
