Mixing in YouTube videos, be they Ted talks, animations, or speeches by academics, can dramatically augment readings you give your class. Fortunately, YouTubes are very easy to add to your web site.
Start by finding a good YouTube. You can either go to YouTube.com and do some searches, or go to google.com, do some searches, and on the search results page, click the Videos tab at the top of the page. That will get you access not only to YouTube videos, but also videos published on other pages.
Once you have found a suitable YouTube, copy the URL by highlighting the entire URL address in the address bar and press Ctrl-C or Cmd-C. This will copy the URL address to the clipboard.
Now, on the right hand side of your screen choose Insert Embed and paste the Yourtube URL into the box that pops up by pressing Ctrl-V or Cmd-V:
The Embed function can also be accessed by placing your cursor on the page and double clicking. The Quick Circle will pop up and the embed function is in the 9 o'clock position:
When you embed a Youtube, it appears in a box on your page. People can click to play it in that box or press the full screen button to make the video bigger.
