Student Eligibility criteria

Māori tertiary students across Aotearoa are invited to apply!

Preference will be given to:

  • Full-time tertiary students studying business or business-related degrees;

  • Students who have experience in business or strong interest in Business;

  • Students be in your second or above year of undergraduate degree or higher qualification; and

  • Students who are able to demonstrate strong leadership potential

Requirements:

  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Be available for an interview (if shortlisted)

  • Be available for all dates associated with the Programme

  • Be willing to take and share photos/videos of your experience

  • Be available for follow up interviews/evaluations in 6 and 12 months

  • Be committed to contributing to future programmes.

How to apply

You will need to submit:

  • A completed application form

  • A video (up to 120 second long) covering the following questions:

  • What are the reasons for your interest in applying for the Te Hononga-ā-Kiwa Programme 2022?

  • Why are you interested in that region?

  • Describe any current business involvement and/or business aspirations

  • What benefits/expected outcomes do you anticipate as a result of your participation for yourself, your community and/or the Institute you attend?

  • Tell us about your contributions as a leader, your experience and commitment to a kaupapa over time.

Successful applicants

Applicants who have been shortlisted will be notified by email for Interview within one week of the closing date. Interviews will take place within the week following shortlisting. Successful Applicants for 2022 will be notified via email and announced through our website and social media.


Business Eligibility criteria

Māori Businesses across Aotearoa are invited to apply!

Preference will be given to businesses that:

  • Are founder-operated and a registered company (NZBN);

  • Have been operating for 18+ months;

  • Actively demonstrate kaupapa Māori values; and

  • Provide benefits to Māori

Business owners will also need to demonstrate hands-on mentoring experience.

Requirements:

  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Able to cover costs for ALL domestic transfers

  • Be available for an interview (if shortlisted)

  • Be available for all dates associated with the Programme

  • Be willing to take and share photos/videos of your experience

  • Be available for follow up interviews/evaluations in 6 and 12 months

  • Be willing and able to host up to three university students for a pre-departure workshop at the businesses expense

  • What are the reasons for your interest in applying for the Te Hononga-ā-Kiwa Programme 2022?

  • Why are you interested in that region?

  • What you hope the visit will achieve for you and your business, and how you expect to achieve this?

  • Your contributions as a leader and experience mentoring young talent.
