Here are different examples of how Scratch could be used in the classroom. Some of them are samples of my students and others I found on the Scratch Website.
Key Blocks:

Change background
Wait blocks
Sound block - record your own sound
Event blocks
Broadcast blocks (if time)
Create background and sprite
Movement blocks
Say blocks
Interactive Art - An art piece where Scratch complements it.
Interactive Poster- A poster that when you touch it, something will happen on Scratch.
They are very similar to each other and both can be geared towards multiple grade levels.
Here is an article on Scratch about having low floors, high ceilings, and wide walls. Scratch gives students the opportunity to grow in every direction and at every level.
