Future layout of The World Above pavilion in 2027

Overview of the Pavilion

Guests exploring Future World in the year of 2027 will be delighted to see the World Above's stunning architecture remains intact, looking much like the original opening day pavilion. However, painted in Disney Blue and Go Away Green are the show buildings for Soarin' Around the World and The Rocketeer vs the Robot Hordes. Trees, foliage, landscaping, and rolling hills do their best to hide the Soarin' show building from guest view. Much like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind's show building, these tactics don't really work all that well. The show buildings are glaringly apparent outside the park, and slightly harder to notice from inside the park. As guests begin to walk closer to the pavilion, they can hear the pavilion's updated music loop, consisting of various tracks from past attractions from The World Above pavilion and various Disney owned films. Still welcoming guests the same way it has been for the last 43 years is the entrance sign, proudly declaring this as The World Above, still presented by Boeing. This same sign is also found on the walls flanking the entrance/exit of the pavilion.

Signage for the pavilion as seen from 2009-present

Proceeding into the entrance, guests are greeted by the sight of The Mouse - Walt Disney's Personal Plane. This historic plane, which has been kept at the pavilion since opening day, is still there, and as of 2021 has finally lost its Planes theming. Above guests is a rounded ceiling with skylights that let light pour in from the sky above. To the left of guests is the entrance to Soarin' Around the World. A cloud marquee with a hand glider flying through displays the name of the attraction, while the wait time is displayed beneath the clouds. Near the entrance to Soarin' Around the World is a set of elevators to the second floor, and tucked away in this hallway of elevators is a door that leads to the Boeing Flight Deck Lounge.

On the first floor of the pavilion, opposite Soarin', is the quick service restaurant, Tastemosphere. Near the Tastemosphere is Runway Gifts, the pavilion's gift shop for all sorts of amazing trinkets, tchotchkes, and merchandise! Walking through the pavilion towards the back, guests come across a scaled down recreation of the Trylon and Perishpere from the 1939 World's Fair. These two replicas hold up the sign for The Rocketeer vs the Robot Hordes. Turning the corner, guests will find the Junior Rocketeer Play Area along with a tester seat for The Rocketeer vs the Robot Hordes. At the end of the first floor of the pavilion are the restrooms, and escalators (along with stairs) up to the second floor.

Trylon and Perishphere

On the second floor, guests can look down towards the first floor and see all the people meandering through the pavilion. Upstairs, guests will find the entrance for Ludwig von Drake presents "The Sky was the Limit: A History of Aviation", a walkthrough attraction with a small theater that gives the history of aviation to guests with help from everyone's favorite mad scientist, who has simply gone quackers for flight! Nearby is the Aviator's Lounge, a table service restaurant that offers unique views from above. Finally on the second floor is a secondary entrance into the Boeing Flight Deck Lounge.
