Ludwig Von Drake presents "The Sky was the Limit: A History of Aviation"

In 1996 (following the success of "Circle of LIfe: An Environmental Fable" at the Land Pavilion) Disney updated the "The Sky was the Limit" to cast the smart Professor Ludwig Von Drake as the host. The film and attraction's signage were both updated to include Von Drake's image. Much of the early footage in the revised film is cut from the 1963 "Fly with Von Drake" episode that premiered on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color. In the film, some scenes have been cut and modified so that there is more of a focus on the developments that had shaped the industry in the 15 years since the original film was made. The film ends with a flying montage from Disney films such as Mary Poppins, Dumbo, Peter Pan, The Rescuers, and Aladdin.

Also in the 1990s, the Airport Design Exhibits were transformed into interactive kiosks. Guests chose a city where they would like to build an airport (from a list of options that includes Orlando). The kiosk walks the guest through the various steps of airport design using real data from their chosen city.
