An Enchanted Voyage

Located in the heart of Live-Action Studio lies An Enchanted Voyage. An Enchanted Voyage is based off the recent box office hit, Enchanted, and inspired by its success comes this brand new attraction. This quaint boat ride takes you on the tour along the rivers of the city, and magically through the not so far off kingdom of Andalasia. Guests will encounter familiar faces, musical numbers, and even a singing ogre! So climb aboard and discover the wonders of magic on An Enchanted Voyage.

In order to hide the show building in the center of the land the non Andalasian portions of the ride will incorporate large and thick amounts of greenery to block out the view. The show building will be painted the iconic Go Away Green colour, and will be topped off with fake ivy, moss, and rockwork on some portions of the building to blend it all in with the real greenery.

Queue

As guests approach the entrance to An Enchanted Voyage they are met by oddly enough a cottage in the heart of the bustling city. The building containing the queue for An Enchanted Voyage is inspired by the real life Charles A. Dana Discovery Center located in New York City's Central Park. Elements of Giselle's Cottage from the film will be incorporated into the real life building. A large sign hangs down from below the archway promoting the ride along with its wait time.

Entering the building, and thus the queue, guests are greeted by the green room. This entire room acts as a greenhouse of sorts with various potted plants and flowers growing throughout. In the center of the room is a singular rose in a vase that if given the right light glows occasionally. Fans overhead guests circulate cool air with their wide leaf shaped blades. Passing under a plant based archway guests enter the second part of the queue.

The second room is the library and is the largest part of the queue. Guests meander through rows of cluttered shelves filled to the brim of storybooks. Those reading the books' brims will find nods to classic fairytales like The Little Mermaid, The Frog Princess, Sleeping Beauty, etc. Throughout the library on tables and carts opened story books will depict the story of Giselle and her happy ending from the film Enchanted. The story books will start off as really ornate over the top fairytale books, but as guests progress throughout the library the books gets less detailed and more modern to reflect the evolution of Giselle in Enchanted.

As guests exit the library they find themselves on the back porch of the building overlooking the river and gardens. Walking down a slope guests arrive on the docks of the river. Here guests board their boats and set sail on their enchanted voyage.

To lend itself into the fantasy feeling of Enchanted while still playing into the Central Park aesthetic of the ride, the boats will be specially crafted for this attraction. The boat will have six rows of four allowing for the high capacity that rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean and it's a small world contain, but the twist will be at the bow of the boat. Elegant wings drape down the sides of the boat leading up the bow where the body and neck of a swan await. The head and body of the swan will be designed to be elongated on the bow, and thus avoid blocking the eyesight of those in the front row. The swan and its wings will be painted an illustrious ivory, and the body of the boats themselves will be golden.

The main dock, during regular operation, can hold six boats at a time. Two boats in the loading section, two boats at unload, and two boats on the bend of the dock empty ready to take in guests.

Ride Description

Scene 1: Rhythm of the City

As the boats depart the docks they slowly float down the river passing the floral gardens in the park. These gardens are complex flower bed patterns that much like the floral Mickey change with the seasons and holidays. Guests will be able to view this floral arrangement either on the boat, or from the pathways of the land proper. Passing a bend, and passing under a willow trees guests are greeted to the first instance of rhythm in the city. Winds that are seemingly constantly blow in causing the stands of leaves on the willow tree to shuffle and flap as if it were a tambourine beating to the beat of That's How You Know.

Turning into a small river bend the boats float past a rowboat containing an Afro-Caribbean band with a steel drum, shekere and a conga drum. They will be playing an afro-caribbeanized version of That's How You Know. Two of the band members will be simple animatronics simply playing their instruments while the third is more advanced with the ability to sing and talk.

Shekere Player: Hahaha good day friends! A year ago Giselle visited us and sang us this song; it has changed us forever!

Shekere Player: (singing )How do they know that you love them? How do you show them you love them?

As the boats float away from the peculiar band floating on the water the shekere player will still be singing bits of pieces of That's How You Know. With the boats gently floating down the river they pass by a couple in another row boat. The couple actually turns out to be Giselle and Robert themselves.

Giselle: I'm so excited to go back to Andalasia!

Robert: It's a real crazy thing finding a way back here in the park.

Giselle: Oh hello there friends! I'm so glad to see you all hurry you mustn't miss out on the Anniversary Gala!

Robert: I can't believe this is actually happening, but see you all there I guess.

As the boats continue to float by they encounter a peculiar cave. Moss and ivy grows all over the rock work allowing it to blend into the greenery that makes up the park. The boats slowly go in as whimsical music begins to play from within the cave.

Scene 2: Into the Sewers

As the boats flow into the mysterious cave keen eye guests will notice that this was actually an entrance into the sewers, the very same sewer system that acts as a portal between Earth and Andalasia. As the boats slowly float into the dark sewers blue fiber optic sparkles in the walls and ceilings come to life. Slowly more and more sparkles begin to appear, and sparkles are even projected onto the guests. This continues until the boats go down a small eight foot drop into the realm of Andalasia.

Scene 3: Andalasian Arrival

After the splashdown guests now find themselves floating through an enchanted wood. The instrumental of Brazzle Dazzle Day plays throughout the room to provide as a backing track for when characters sing along. Screens and simple animatronics make up much of the cast of characters within the scene, and whereas the previous animatronics were realistic these resemble three dimensional cartoon figures.

Floating into the enchanted wood a large protruding tree banch sticks out with an adorable chipmunk which on closer inspection is Pip, Giselle's forest friend.

Pip: (in a New York accent) What took ya so long! Ya better hurry to Giselle's cottage for the gala! Ooooh this is a brazzle dazzle day!

Pip: (singing) It's a brazzle dazzle day so enjoy your time from minute to minute. That's the brazzle dazzle way!

Standing tall above the waters are two singing storks, and in the trees hidden screens allow for flying birds to zip in and out through the branches. The storks bob their heads to the music, and the birds flap to the beat. Opposite the birds screens is a cheery old racoon holding a flower in his hand.

Storks: (singing) Flying through the air you don't need wings on.

Flying Birds: (singing) Wings on.

Racoon: (singing) Climb right up and feel the thrill it brings on.

Flying Birds: (singing) Rock with the wind as it sings on.

All: (singing) That's the brazzle dazzle way, for a brazzle dazzle day!

The troll that once terrorized Giselle now sits in the woods holding out his finger singing to a bunch of cheery little birds. Various woodland creatures such as deer, squirrels, rabbits, and even a bear cub surround his feet given he is in a sitting position. The troll will be the largest animatronic in the ride, and will be similar in scope to the giants from the Sinbad attraction at Tokyo DisneySea.

Troll: Yuhuh you're almost there!

Troll: (singing) Running through the woods without your shoes on.

Animals: (singing) Shoes on.

Troll: (singing) Making sure that you don't keep your blues on.

Animals: (singing) Blues on.

All: (singing) That's the brazzle dazzle way, for a brazzle dazzle day!

Floating past the giant in the distance screens show various animals skipping towards the far off Andalasian castle home to Edward and Nancy who are celebrating their one year anniversary, and are the ones hosting the gala that guests are going to attend. The animals are skipping to the beat of Brazzle Dazzle Day as they sing along. The boats reach the doorstep of Giselle's cottage, and with that guests exit the woods. In the upper window guests will notice a stained glass version of Giselle and Robert waltzing at the Kings and Queens Ball.

Scene 4: Giselle's Preparation

As the boats float into Giselle's cottage the opening notes of Happy Working Song begins to play. On the steps to the second level of the cottage some rabbits are tugging a measuring tape, and entangled within the tape is a turtle who being spun around by the two rabbits. Rolls of fabric are unfurled down the steps, and a skunk is seen poking out from underneath it. A silly bear sits at the top of the staircase whistling to the tune of Happy Working Song.

In the center of the cottage are two mannequins made from various household items along with random elements of nature. They are in the style of the Edward mannequin from the film, but now represent Giselle and Robert. They are being used as stand ins as Giselle creates outfits for the gala. Various birds are seen 'flying' around points of the mannequin as they wrap the dress in ribbon and fabric on the suit. A mouse is seen crawling up one of the pant legs with a needle in its mouth, and a spool of thread in the other. Giselle will be an animatronic that has plenty of sayings programmed into her so guests won't hear say the same things over and over again. As Giselle speaks the instrumental of the song continues to play, and her animal friends are constantly humming to the tune.

Giselle: Oh it's all so exciting, but with nothing to wear we had to something!

Giselle (singing): Come, my little friends, as we all sing a happy little working song.

Merry little voices clear and strong. Come and roll your sleeves up, so to speak, and pitch in. Sewing seams up on the dress as we sing along!

--

Giselle: To think it's been just a year since Nancy and Edward were married, and a gala for there anniversary! So much fun!

Giselle (singing): We'll keep singing without fail otherwise we'd spoil it. Fixing up the suit with tie and cutting down the sli-it!

--

Giselle: I guess I should thank Narcissa! I never would've met Robert without her push!

Giselle (singing): You can do a lot when you've got such a happy working tune to hum. While you're knitting up the pretty prim

--

Giselle: The anniversary of when I left Andalasia was so far ago, yet I'm back for the gala!

Giselle (singing): Sing along! If you can not sing then hum along! As we're continue our happy working song!

As the boats go around Giselle and her sewing efforts guests will slowly see Robert is awaiting at the back entrance of the cottage. He's in the kitchen knife in one hand and a green apple missing a slice in the other. Poking through the window of the cottage is a branch that Pip is sitting on. Similar to Giselle the two will have different sets of banter to keep it fresh for repeat riders. This will also be the first time Robert is seen in his cartoon form.

Pip: An apple? Don't cha know that apples tend to be the most poisoned fruit!

Robert: This is a green apple, those stories always have the sweet red ones!

Pip: Touché

--

Pip: Hey! Hey everybody! You're on your way to the Edward and Nancy's Anniversary Gala!

Robert: You know, its also the anniversary of when Giselle and I fell in love?

Pip: So what? Today was the day I fell in love with my first acorn, where's my gala!

The boats sail out of the cottage leaving the bickering buddies and singing seamstress behind.

Scene 5: Anniversary Gala

The boats progress into the canals of the Royal Palace of Andalasia. Various ornate topiary shapes dot the sides , and in between the topiaries will be flower beds. Eventually boats reach the Palace's Garden Plaza in which the festivities are held. The plaza is made in such a way that allows for screens to be intertwined between plants, and decorative columns and archways that guests will be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two. The screens will show other patrons to the gala such as woodland creatures and royal couples that look vaguely familiar dancing to the song. Throughout the scene So Close plays as Nancy and Edward dance on one turntable, and Giselle and Robert on the other. The boats will float between the two turntables, and as guests pass by they will hear both couples talking about the events that happened a year ago in Enchanted.

Exiting the plaza guests enter a canal similar to the last one, but now Nathaniel awaits guests at the end of the canal by a large cave similar to that of which guests entered Andalasia by.

Nathaniel: Hmm look who's finally had enough of gala! Well time to get back to your world! Hurry on up now!

Scene 6: Into the Well

As the boats flow into the magical cave keen eye guests will notice that this was actually an entrance into a well, the very same well that Giselle fell down to go to Earth. As the boats slowly float into the dark sewers blue fiber optic sparkles in the walls and ceilings come to life. Slowly more and more sparkles begin to appear, and sparkles are even projected onto the guests. This continues until the boats go up a small eight foot hill back into the dimension of the guests'.

Scene 7: Magic of the City

As the boats depart from the cave back into the park they are greeted by the Afro-Latino band from the beginning of the guests' journey.

Shekere Player: Welcome back! You're just in time for the parks big celebration!

Shekere Player: (singing) Storybook endings, fairytales coming true. Deep down inside we wanna believe they still do

On the gardens a parade seems to be going with various people in various costumes seen throughout Central Park in the film are seen dancing, and singing along to the song Ever Ever After.

Right before unload in a gazebo Giselle and Robert wave guests goodbye, and wishes them farewell.
