Jack White received a lifesaving related stem cell transplant on July 14, 2006. All three of his brothers were tested as potential matches—there was only a 57% chance that one would be compatible, and incredibly, his older brother was a match. That outcome proved to be a critical and life-changing factor in his journey. In Jack’s words, all of his brothers played a role in saving his life.
While Jack considers himself fortunate, he carries with him the memory of two remarkable friends he met during his transplant journey who were not as lucky and should never be forgotten.
The first is Thomas G. Littell, a Vietnam veteran and Bronze Star Medal recipient—his service and character speak for themselves.
The second is Warren Zeller III, an extraordinary individual whose story continues to inspire many.
Jack also wants to recognize his good friend Alice Young, a longtime Colorado resident now living in her home state of Randolph, Maine, who is currently in urgent need of a kidney transplant.
God bless them all.
