Star Fox: Warfare On Corneria

STAR FOX:WARFARE ON CORNERIA is an interactive ride that puts guests in the shoes of Fox McCloud & his team, as you & 4 other guests fight against Andross’s forces on Corneria. The ride uses essentially the same technology as Smuggler’s Run, however despite there still being two pilots & two gunners, instead of there being two engineers, there’s now a new role, the scavenger. The mechanics will be farther explained later on. The story is fairly basic, as it’s a retelling of sorts of the story of most star Fox games, with a few changes. The plot’s details will be elaborated on at a farther point in the write-up.

The exterior of the attraction is designed as a new base of the Star Fox crew, with it “being” an abandoned blaster factory, with the queue fitting in with the exterior’s theme. As for the queue’s details, there are several interactive (or at least will be interactive after the pandemic) screens that show maps of different parts of the Lylat System & info on different Star Fox characters. After the queue is finished guests are met with a pre-show where a triple-A animatronic Peppy Hare tells the new members of team Star Fox (AKA guests) that the pre-existing members aren’t available & that YOU’LL need to board the Arwing (which is now a ship that needs 5 people to man) help fight against Andross’s army on Corneria, and that 5 of you will be sent on this mission, two pilots, two gunners, & two scavengers, with him then explaining those roles (although since most people reading this know how the first two positions work in Smuggler’s Run we’ll only be covering the last role here (AKA in the next paragraph).

Once guests get onto the ride itself they can get to “playing”, & while the ride functions pretty similarly to Smuggler’s Run, there are a couple key differences, for example, the boring role of the mechanics is replaced with the role of scavengers, who “deploy” mini ships that they control through a mini-game of sorts where they pilot them through a some obstacles which allows them to claim power-ups (which will be “sent back” to the ship) that will help out the pilots & or gunners. Another new mechanic is one that comes from the games themselves, with that being that Peppy will give the crew advice. Similarly to Smuggler’s Run the ride has multiple endings, with them being either bad or good endings, following along the lines of “at least for now, you’ve helped restore peace to Corneria”, or “after you lost to Andross’s army Corneria has been left to continue it’s chaos”.

So in conclusion, we hope both Star Fox fans & non-Star Fox fans alike will enjoy this immersive experience.
