Jerome Johnson is finally going abroad to Paris, a long-awaited trip! He hasn't planned for it much and is a little anxious about being in a completely new city. Not to mention he doesn't even speak French!
12 Hours later, the plane is almost landing and Jerome finally has service again. He is greeted by a StreetSmart notification asking if he'd like to start his trip with them. Jerome has time to kill on the tarmac, so he reads all of these suggested FAQ sheets StreetSmart offers him. Jerome learns a bit more about the train system in Paris, some basic French words, and general knowledge about the new city to explore!
While out on their ride, Jerome stresses about finding a restaurant after. But then he remembers that he can just check StreetSmart for ideas.
Jerome had a great night and it was time for him and his date to make their way toward their apartments. They are unfamiliar with the area and want to make a safe, scenic route back. He navigates to StreetSmarts Safety tips for his walk back. They both walk to the center of town adn call a cab, ending a great night.
About a few days after their date, Jerome goes to a picnic just to relax by himself with a view. He's been having so many great memories in such a short time that he really wants a way to remember it all. He goes onto StreetSmart and sees that a Journal Named "Paris Trip" has already been started for him. Jerome taps on it and starts writing about his experiences, uploading photos, and saving his entry to look back on whenever.
Upon, downloading, StreetSmart, Jerome is greeted with a quick 4-minute survey. He is intrigued to know what they have to offer based on his preferences. However, the plane is now departing and he must put his phone in airplane mode
After getting settled for a few days in his new stay. Jerome has some free time between classes and wants to make some plans to look forward to. So, he hops on StreetSmart's Activities Section, tailored for him. He sees so many cool options but picks three for the near future within his budget. He adds them all to his calendar view and calls some friends from class to join him!
StreetSmart offers some suggestions right near them based off of the mood they were in.
After working on homework all day, Jerome gets a notification on his phone reminding him of his BUS tour from StreetSmart. He asks Jennifer out again and they tour the city to the city from a different perspective
Finally, Jerome invites all of his friends to the Louvre tour he booked a few days after arriving. His friends asked him where he keeps finding stuff like this to do and he responds with... "Just download StreetSmart and let the app do the rest!". It has everything all in one place for traveling to new cities!
Developing our primary Persona, Jerome Johnson, was the main inspiration for our storyboard. Since his identity matches the ideal traveler for StreetSmart, we came up with scenarios on his trip when he may use the app to improve his trip abroad. We wanted to cover the main aspects of the app: a survey to tailor their preferences, activity selection, food, scheduling, navigation, tips and FAQs, safety, and journaling! We wished the storyboard to flow naturally in a sequence of events where all these cases are used and dialogue is relatable for an audience similar to Jerome. Thinking about how and what kind of audience we wanted our story to appeal to was key for plot development. Yet, we realized that if we display how Jerome, our primary persona, would interact with it, then people like Jerome will also be most intrigued. We've learned that choosing certain activities that make our smaller target audience really happy is better than choosing a broader selection to appease a larger audience. Many of the folks in our group knew or had visited Paris so we decided on this location! Also, more importantly, it was one of the locations that people in Jerome's position would travel to for semesters abroad. Every single group member came up with a bunch of ideas for activities in Paris that Jerome may be interested in and we selected the most realistic.
We came together as a group and talked about our favorite activities, condensing the best for our final story. We then assigned a group member to use their photoshop, PicCollage, and Notability skills to place Jerome in all of these ideal scenarios for StreetSmart - "Jerome's Trip Abroad In Paris" was born.
