Camp exists because of all of the amazing volunteers who teach, clean, organize, photograph, set-up.... and more. Want to join this crew? Please complete an application below.
Volunteers receive a free camp pass for themselves and an acrocamp t-shirt.
Before applying, volunteers should review all of the information on this website, including the information on camp values. We are excited to be partnering with BACCES - they have prepared an excellent video that outlines some concepts that can help you think about building inclusive communities. Please take the time to watch this video.
If you fill out the application, please do not buy a ticket. If you are not accepted, we will make sure that you get a ticket at the price that reflects the time you filled out your application.
We have four volunteer roles: teachers, site volunteer, photography and first aid.
Teachers. There are morning and afternoon sessions (90 minutes), as well as a morning warm-up (60 minutes) on Friday-Sunday. Most morning and afternoon session are acro-skills, but we also welcome non acro-skills (such as handstands, circus and movement arts). As you think about what you want to teach, please note that AcroCamp takes place in a wilderness setting. There are no mats or rigging. There is lots of flat ground… but it is “outdoor flat” and there may be twigs, pinecones and sunshine. There are covered spaces, but no indoor space. In case of rain class schedules will be juggled.
Site Volunteer. As a site volunteer you must be able to help us set-up camp starting Thursday at 2 or take down camp in the 2 hours after camp. In addition you will do 1-2 hours of support a day. This will include checking in campers, checking site cleanliness, helping with fires/torches and other tasks as needed. These usually don’t overlap with acro times.
Event Photographer. As a photographer, you will work with a crew of about 4 photographers to ensure photographic coverage of the event, including classes and downtime. You should absolutely do acro classes - just bring your camera! You are expected to share digital photos with us via google drive within 2 weeks of camp.
First Aid Volunteer. As a first-aid volunteer, you will work with a team of other skilled first-aiders to be on hand in case you are needed. The volunteer coordinator will help ensure that we have a system to ensure that there is always at least one first-aider on site and that we can find you if needed. (While camp takes place on a wilderness site, the nearest hospital is 7 minutes away)
