Any visitor to Discovery Cove is sure to work up an appetite and there’s no better place then at The Wave & Fish. Half English Tavern and half Sea Shanty this place has the feel of being a real locals place. The interior is made of wood, steel, and glass with portraits and various objects hanging around the wall. While it feels worn and lived in, the space is clean and comfortable. The center of the restaurant is a large copper and glass bar featuring a machine connected to a series of pipes and tubes that one would assume contains all the beverages.
The menu, as noted by the name and setting, is seafood inspired with a variety of dishes including:
Appetizers
Crab on Toast - White lump crab, smashed avocado, and watercress on sourdough toast
Mussels - Mussels in a white wine garlic sauce
Seaweed Salad - Dressed seaweed topped with broccoli slaw, red onion and a creamy spiced dressing
Entrees
Fish and Chips - with a trio of house dipping sauces (Cod, Haddock, or Vegetarian)
Salmon Burger - Herb salmon patty served, dark greens mix served with a rich house sauce on a brioche bun
Shepherd Pie - Slow roasted beef with vegetables in a rich sauce with cheddar chive mashed potatoes
Dessert
Ice Cream - Rotating selection of ice cream with speciality sea salt flavors
Bread a Butter Pudding - Challah bread baked in a creamy sauce drizzled with caramel and chocolate
Bottom Depths Chocolate Cake - Decident dark chocolate cake
During your meal make sure to keep a lookout for any locals who may come in with wild tales of what they saw on a fishing expedition or looking to pick a fight. Your server may also have some interesting stories to tell if you remember to ask. No matter what you order or what stories you leave with you’ll enjoy your stay at The Wave & Fish.
