Aeronautical engineering is the study and design of aircrafts including, but not limited to, rockets and planes. This week, we applied our knowledge of aeronautical engineering to build our own rocket that would shoot into the sky. We additionally built a foam rocket that would fly with a propeller and rubberbands.
Chemical engineering is the study of chemistry and materials to create energy resources and chemical reactions. This week, we applied our knowledge of chemical engineering for our rocket fuel. Using the engine provided for us, we determined the amount of force the engine could produce based on the mass of the rocket, and we created a chemical reaction to make our rocket shoot into the sky.
