Bioengineering is the application of biology to make items that will ultimately improve human life. This week, we applied our knowledge of bioengineering to create a circuit that would test warning signs of COVID-19 and alert emergency services if three warning signs were present.
Electrical engineering is the manipulation of circuits and other electrical tools such as transistors and resistors to achieve a goal. This week, we applied our knowledge of electrical engineering to successfully create multiple different types of circuits such as alarm, timer, and logic circuits. All of these circuits allowed for us to create a combined circuit that would reach our goal of determing whether someone has COVID-19.
Computer engineering is the use of binary logic to build computer software. This week, we applied our knowledge of computer engineering to create multiple "if" "then" statements within our circuit. For example, "if a patient displays all three symptoms of COVID-19, the alarm will go off." Using this logic, we created circuits that accurately reflected our "if" "then" statements.
