TeachMeets are open to all educators who are interested in sharing and getting new ideas from other educators. They are organised by enthusiastic educators who secure a venue, advertise the event, and coordinate the presenters.
GUIDELINES:
Time: Your talk can be 2 or 7 minutes. You don’t need (any/many) props.
This keeps a nice flow going, ensures that no one presenter dominates, and ensures variety so everyone can find something of value to take home with them!
You really don't need slides - if you want, show your laptop, use paper, use a prop, or add a link to the chat.
You: The talk is about you, not your school.
This is not about your school’s wider work, their brand, their tireless efforts. This is about you as an educator. What you do makes a difference - share that!
New: You’ve never presented on this topic before.
Polished presentations that you've done many times aren't the point of TeachMeets; neither are product demos.
BONUS GUIDELINES:
Write: Instead of a short talk, write a short piece (max 500 words) and we'll add it to this site.
Dark Horse: Always leave room for that spontaneous talk - an impromptu opportunity!
The success of a TeachMeet depends on you - educators who have great ideas and are willing to share them! So, what are you waiting for? Check out our upcoming TeachMeet events and join us!
