CommonLit is digital literacy tool that has over 2,000 high-quality free reading passages for grades 3-12, complemented by aligned interim assessments, growth-oriented data, and expert-led teacher development.
I love CommonLit because it allows me to choose specific text sets based on novels and short stories that I read with my students! I also love that it includes videos that students can watch too!
Newsela is an online news-as-literacy platform that features high-interest articles on everything from current events to myths and legends and from literature to science.
My favorite thing about NewsELA is that it allows me to choose different lexile levels for the same text. It's great for differentiation!
Mastery Connect is an innovative assessment, curriculum planning, and benchmark assessment platform.
One word: DATA!! I love that Mastery Connect allows me to track student mastery based on specific standards and it comes with a wide range of assessments already created!
EDpuzzle is a teaching tool used to place interactive content into pre-existing videos from a variety of sources, such as TED or YouTube, or into videos you have made.
Ed Puzzle is amazing for asynchronous instruction! It allows me embed questions within my teaching videos and gives the students the opportunity to answer the question. Great for formative assessing in a remote learning environment.
