In efforts to further support Pre-Service and Beginning Teachers, these services are being offered at little to no cost in order to ensure we are equipping our teachers with what they need in order to be successful!
The Praxis I (also known as the Praxis Core), "measure academic skills in reading, writing and mathematics deemed by teacher educators to be essential for all candidates preparing to be teachers, no matter what content area or grade-level they aspire to teach. These tests were designed to provide comprehensive assessments that measure the skills and content knowledge of candidates entering teacher preparation programs" (ETS, 2022).
While these tests are necessary for admission into teacher preparation programs and for teacher licensure, similar to most standardized tests, they can be tricky to navigate and can sometime hinder the progress made by the teacher candidate.
This FREE service is designed to equip teacher candidates with the study skills and content knowledge needed in order to successfully pass this test.
Similarly, the Praxis II does the same thing, but with a focus on specific content areas. Free support on this test will be provided based on the expertise available.
EdTPA is edTPA is a performance-based, subject-specific assessment and support system used by teacher preparation programs throughout the United States to emphasize, measure and support the skills and knowledge that all teachers need from Day 1 in the classroom (Saint Peters University, 2022).
Majority of the support you will receive while constructing this portfolio will come from your Professors and EdTPA Coordinators. However, this free service will allow you to submit your portfolio for review in order to receive feedback that will strengthen your portfolio. The first review is free, but each additional review will be $15.
Data literacy refers to one's level of understanding of how to find, evaluate, and use data to inform instruction. A data literate person possesses the knowledge to gather, analyze, and graphically convey information and data to support decision making.
This two-hour seminar will allow you to make meaningful connections to your own data, while also exploring the different components of data that will allow you to better analyze and track data with the goal of increasing student achievement.
The asynchronous seminar, notes, and templates for this training will be included for the low cost of $25.
(This service is also available for live, in-person sessions.)
Designed to be a "refresher" course for some and an introductory course for others, this asynchronous course explores the following:
