This was the first phase of the project where the objective was to define the contents of the activities to be implemented in schools. It was essential to involve both partners in order to understand the different needs and inputs regarding the themes to be explored in the classroom. These activities need to be innovative and add value to the kits already used by each school
This activity was divided into 4 major sub-activities:
a)Prepare the teachers, organise collaborative makerspace, agree on ways of communication
The preparation of teachers was essential to ensure the quality of experiences. We organized an online meeting where the teachers got to know each other.
b) Planning the activities and define the curricula
At this stage, it was necessary to identify best practices in this area in order to discuss expectations and possible themes. After discussing various possibilities, a consensus of 8 activities was reached, which everyone considers innovative and impactful to the target group.
c)Creation of pedagogical content
It was necessary to prepare all the tools and kits necessary for teachers to prepare and deliver the best STEAM experiences in the classroom. Tutorials for the activities was built. These tutorials allowed teachers to be comfortable in delivering these experiences in the classroom. This content has been prepared by both countries in close collaboration with the teachers in order to guarantee efficiency.
d) Designing STEM/STEAM teaching activities accordingly
The development and adaptation of the teaching activities was the last phase. At this stage, Applicant-Partner team adapted and developed new STEM/STEAM activities, maintaining close communication
