All lesson plans are made ahead of time, but changed daily to reflect student need. I use the continuous improvement cycle to help students to understand concepts and differentiate instruction based on student interest to improve engagement.

This is a living document and available to my students and for the first time this year, their parents.
All lesson plans are created based on a pacing guide that I create at the end of every year, as my students and I reflect on the previous year. I always let my current students evaluate me and my class, then I try to incorporate their suggestions into my class for next year. These pacing guides are standards based and are used to ensure that all standards are covered over the course of the year. Each unit is based on a Matrix for a PBL that will help students to apply the standards they learn in class to real world situations that they might encounter.
Students do an extended research project on the career they hope to attain after high school. This culminates in a 6 page MLA style research paper.

There are often misconceptions regarding STEM in today's education system. STEM is an integral part of what we do in humanities as well. I work to incorporate technology into my lessons giving students the opportunity to see how English class can help prepare them for a technology driven world.
