My Professional Learning Networks

My experience as a member of these learning communities has enabled me to network and learn from other educators. As educators, we must collaborate to gain insight on new learning strategies and techniques. I believe we must continuously learn and seek out information to improve our craft. When we stop learning, we stop growing. Twitter has been the best, professional learning network that I have ever been a part of. There are several opportunities to join online, chat discussions and connect with educators from all around the world. I was lucky enough to connect with an educator from India. Our connection lead to a classroom Skype. We learned so much about the Indian culture. It’s exciting to learn new ideas, connect with other educators, and get inspired. I can only hope my contributions will inspire others to try out different engagement tools and strategies in their classroom. In a recent, twitter post I discussed how I was incorporating a Flipgrid station. This Flipgrid station connects reading and math together. Students read a math book then post a video around the book. The responses were overwhelming and I have received so much support and gratitude for sharing the idea.
