Biomedical Science courses complement really nicely with Biology courses. Whether students are working towards a medical degree or a biomedical certification, or whether you are part of a HOSA club or advisor, here you will find a variety of engaging and fun ideas and resources.


One of my all time favorite labs definitely has to be one that contains food items-the Biomolecules Lab! Students get the opportunity to have an up close experience with their favorite foods- pizza, cookies, chips, sports drinks to name a few.


Do students talk over you? Are students distracted or having side conversations while you are trying to teach? There are simple and quick classroom management techniques you can follow to make your lessons more effective and engaging.


Student’s faces will brighten up as they see the white starch baggie turn purple in a matter of minutes. Students will start asking “Why? How does this happen?”. Students will see how the Iodine diffuses from the cup to inside the baggie.


Here are two fun hands-on Enzyme lab options that are easy to prepare and step up.


Hey there Biology teachers. I want to share a colorful and fun lab where students get to see how Osmosis and Diffusion works. Gummy bears will shrink and grow as they are soaked in water and sugar/salt solutions.


A must at the beginning of every school year is introducing laboratory safety, tool and the use of the microscope. Focus on what is important and give students an opportunity to see and hold each piece.

Word Walls are a great resource for all students to visualize  different terminology.  Its important to include content vocabulary both in English and Spanish to support ELL and ESL students. Word Walls can be laminated for longer lifetime and durability and reused on a yearly basis.
