I define education as being the bridge between ones self and society. This bridge allows the individual to take chances and form part of society. Each individual has the ability to show who they are based on what they know and how they use it. Education shapes our way of thinking to better rationalize and function in society. Every skill that one possesses is used to face the world in which one lives. One needs to be prepared to deal with any obstacle that comes in our path with success. There’s no one way of making use of our knowledge, but how we interact and are stimulated with our environment puts one’s knowledge of judgment to the test.
I feel one of the arts to teaching is through the use of methodology. When a lesson is delivered a method is introduced to enable students to engage in their learning. When engagement is present students are willing to make the most of their learning experience by applying the method(s) introduced by the teacher. In my own teaching I observe the process and judge the method's effectiveness based on observations and student responses. In some cases when a method is not effective the teacher should adjust the content and use other means to get the content across. Through the use of methods each learner is required to show their understanding by applying the method. When the method is applied with success the student should feel a sense of accomplishment.
