We live in a world that is both very digital and visual. Instead of written letters, many of my communications with my friends and family use images and animations. If we know that students are engaged in this type of communication, then why not tap into it. In this edition of Teaching with Tech, I will define and share examples of different types of visual digital technology and give examples of how students could create them for classroom use.
Memes, GIFs, and Emojis can be used many ways in the classroom, but why use visual communication?
The easiest way to create your own meme is using Google Drawings. Students can easily search and insert an image, then add their text. Once completed, the Google Drawing can be shared or downloaded as an image.
Google Photos has an animation feature for creating GIFs. I created the following addition problem GIF:
